The West Australian: Super-trawler sparks fears for WA fish stocks

Conservationists are alarmed at a plan for one of the world’s biggest fishing trawlers to take thousands of tonnes of fish from waters off WA.
Conservation Council WA director Piers Verstegen said the 142m super-trawler, which can catch up to 600 tonnes of fish a day, could lead to the collapse of fisheries in Commonwealth waters in southern Australia.
