David Attenborough calls it one of the natural wonders of the world

falls_fb
Described by Sir David Attenborough as one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, this is our chance to protect the extraordinary Horizontal Falls in the Kimberley.
A new marine park has been announced for Horizontal Falls to be jointly managed with the Dambimangari Traditional Owners – a great start with eight sanctuaries. But crucial areas remain unprotected and the draft plan still allows destructive practices such as trawling, gillnetting and mining for oil and gas in this pristine wonderland.
The Government is asking for your feedback. Will you send a quick message asking for world-class protection for Horizontal Falls? http://saveourmarinelife.org.au/falls-national/
The Kimberley is one of the last pristine ocean areas in the world and, thanks to your support Christabel, we’ve come a long way to creating a Great Kimberley Marine Park that could even rival the Great Barrier Reef!
The incredible wave of support for a sanctuary for Roebuck Bay and its snubfin dolphins recently broke the record number of submissions for Western Australia! Now while we await the Government’s response for Roebuck, we must turn our attention to Horizontal Falls.
More than 100 marine scientists and Kimberley tourism operators are already calling for world-class protection for the Kimberley coast. A recent economics report showed that if a third of the park was covered by marine sanctuaries, the tourism industry along the Kimberley coast could double in economic value.
Please take a minute to send your message to protect this global icon, home to endangered sawfish, dolphins, turtles and humpback whales.
With your support, we’ll ensure that Horizontal Falls receives the world-class protection it deserves.
